Universitas Padjadjaran’s Faculty of Law (Fakultas Hukum, or FH) began as the Faculty of Law and Civic Knowledge (FHPM), and was officially founded through the Regulation of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia Number 37 of 1957 regarding The Founding of Unpad, on September 24, 1957. The Faculty of Law was one of the four faculties which constituted the beginning of what would become Unpad.
Unpad’s Faculty of Law is one of the oldest and most renowned law schools in Indonesia .The Faculty of Law also represents the foundations of Unpad’s identity in contributing to the world of education. This is manifested, among other things, in the application of Core Academic Values (Pola Ilmiah Pokok or PIP) titled ”The Advancement in Law and Environmental Sustainability in National Development”. The founding of the Legal Clinics Laboratory) (Laboratorium Klinis Hukum) is also a unique signature of Unpad’s Faculty of Law.
In improving the Faculty’s performance, competent professors have become the main force in enhancing the quality of educational practices, students’ activities and scientific forums in both national and international level. No less important is the number of international journal publications cooperating with various public and private institutions, both nationally and internationally.
Unpad’s Faculty of Law constantly aims to meet the demands of the public through upholding the Three Pillars of Higher Education, conduct collaborative interdisciplinary research at a national and international level, as well as to produce excellent academics that uphold cultural diversity. FH Unpad strives to fulfill its vision in becoming an internationally competitive, research-based law school in 2024.
