Japfa Chess Club 2 Wins the National U-Camaintian 2012

[Unpad.ac.id, 15/12/2012] Japfa Chess Club 2 from Jakarta won the national U-Camaintaian 2012 chess tournament held in Unpad campus Bandung on Saturday (15/12). They score the highest after competing with team Benteng Ksatria Lapas Kelas 1, with the total score of 5.5.

The second and third places are won by team Pengcab Percasi from Cimahi and team Universitas Negeri Malang. Each won money prizes in the amount of Rp15 million, Rp 12 million, and Rp 10 million respectively.

As for the forth to tenth winners, the positions are taken by team Japfa Chess Club 1, Pengprov Percasi Sulawesi Utara, Benteng Ksatria Lapas Kelas 1, Jcc 1, Pengprov Percasi Jawa Barat A, Panjalu Chess Club, and Disperindag Kop. Bekasi. Unpad rector awards them with money prizes in the amount of Rp. 1 million for the youngest participants.

Following the competition, the rector plans to organize a workshop in January on the evaluation of rules and regulation for the tournament. “We should work with Indonesian Chess Association (PB Percasi) to examine and evaluate what is lacking from this tournament. In the future, we hope such tournament will be much more organized.”

Endar Sakti Lubis from the rating and ranking commission of PB Percasi shows appreciation for such tournament in his opinion encourages chess competence and physical endurance. “In addition, it also sharpens a good cooperation among team members and encourages sportsmanship.”

One participant, who is also the International Chess Grand Master, Irene Kharisma Sukandar, gives positive response for this tournament. “Physical endurance plays a great role in this tournament. I’m glad I can participate in this U-Camaintian,” she concludes.
