The Unpad students are Tisa Layalia Hanifah Maufuf (Midwifery), Mia Helmiyani (Journalism). Afidah Aini (Arabic Literature), Ismiatun (Pharmacy), Qurrata Aini (Agrotechnology), Enjang Mutaqin (Public Administration), M. Farhanun Nadza (Agribusiness), Najmy Adilla Syafruddin (Sundanese Literature), Alif Abdurrafi Muliawan (Economics and Development Studies ), Doni Irfan (Arabic Literature), and Azzam Fauzan Badurrahman (Arabic Literature).

“Hopefully these 11 ambassadors can contribute actively to Unpad. “The Global Action Ambassador” predicate is also a great mandate and there must be an implementation to the community, especially around us,” Tisa said when met at the Unpad Public Communication Office Room on Wednesday (2/13).

Their participation in the competition began with the sending of personal statements regarding their understanding and attention to the SDGs. Tisa explained, various materials regarding the SDGs in the lecture, especially when Unpad Joint Preparation Stages (TPB) were very helpful in writing the personal statement.

“During the first semester we were given material about SDGs, right, so we have enough understanding to be made into a personal statement,” said Tisa.

Overall, the 2019 Global Goals Summit was attended by 127 participants from 24 countries. In addition to the conference which presented a number of speakers on the SDGs, there was also a limited discussion where participants were divided into a number of groups to discuss issues in a country. Here, participants are required to think critically about the problem and its solution. The results of the discussion were then presented to all participants.

One group of Unpad students, Qurrata Aini, was chosen as the first runner up to the presentation group. Qurrata Aini and her group won the award after explaining the problems in Syria.

In addition to being involved as participants, a number of Unpad students also performed in the Grand Opening of the event by presenting the Ratoeh Jaroe dance. The students consist of various faculties, and among them also act as participants of the 2019 Global Goals Summit. *
