Unpad Students Won Second Place in Perbanas Marketing Debate Competition

[unpad.ac.id, 4/10/2018] Students of Unpad won a number of achievements at Perbanas Marketing Debating Competition (PMDC) held on 24-27 September 2018. The PMDC event is an annual national marketing debate competition held by the Program Student Association Perbanas Institute Management Study.

This year the Unpad delegation consisting of Rita Nurhasanah (FISIP 2015), Nabila Balkis Sadhewo (FISIP 2016) and Giovanni Nickson Zevanya (Fikom 2016) won second place in the competition. In addition, Giovanni Nickson Zevanya won the title of Best Speaker of all competitions.

This year, PMDC which has been held for the fourteenth time has the theme “Integrated Digital Economy in Achieving Global Target Competition Through Technology”. The competition consists of three preliminary rounds, quarter final rounds, semifinal rounds, and grandfinal rounds.

In the preliminary round, topics discussed were cashless economy, sharing economy, and customer data privacy. After displaying the best in the preliminary round, Unpad team was declared qualified for the semifinal round.

In the semifinal, participants were asked to complete a case. The Unpad team managed to get the best score and was declared qualified for the grandfinal round.

Then in the grandfinal round, the motion was debated, namely the management system in social media. In this round Unpad team competed with Telkom University and Diponegoro University, until finally Unpad was declared second place. *
