North Kalimantan Province Established Cooperation with Unpad

[Unpad.ac.id, 17/09/2016] Universitas Padjadjaran conducted signing of Cooperation Charter with Provincial Government of North Kalimantan at Executive Lounge Unpad, Jln. Dipati Ukur no. 35 Bandung, Saturday (17/09). This Coopeation Charter was signed by Vice Rector for Governance and Resources Unpad, Dr. Sigid Suseno, SH., M.Hum and Governor of North Kalimantan, Dr. H. Irianto Lambrie.

In addition to the signing of the Cooperation Charter, during the same occasion the signing of the Cooperation Agreement between the Graduate School of Padjadjaran and the Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning Provincial Government of North Kalimantan was conducted. The signing was conducted by Dean of the Graduate School, Prof. Dr. Hendarmawan, M.Sc. and Head of Public Works and Spatial Planning Provincial Government of North Kalimantan, Dr. Ir. Suheriyatna, M.Sc.

The cooperation will include research and educational activities. This cooperation is conducted in an effort to strengthen science and technology to provide support and leverage to the potential of existing resources on both sides.

“Hopefully this collaboration between Unpad with North Borneo could run well, and continue to make Unpad as part of the Indonesia development process,” said Dr. Sigid.

Meanwhile, Governor of North Kalimantan revealed that as a new province, many things are being done to increase the potential of the province; one of which is the strengthening of human resources. Thus, it is expected the cooperation with Unpad can support the potential.

“We want to prepare qualified human resources who possess integrity, with strong spirit and good conscience to build the future,” said Dr. Irianto.

On the occasion, Prof. Hendarmawan revealed that Unpad and the provincial government of North Borneo shared the same vision and mission, in relation to the importance of giving serious benefits for the community for the betterment of the nation. Expected future cooperation undertaken not only by the Graduate School but also with other faculties in Unpad.

“There are 16 faculties in Unpad and we can work together to build Indonesia together,” he said. *
