Nagoya University of Japan initiates cooperation with Unpad

 

[Unpad.ac.id, 28/08/2013] Universitas Padjadjaran received visit from the President of Nagoya University Japan, Michinari Hamaguchi, D. Med. along with other representatives in the middle of Graduation Ceremony Batch IV Academic Year 2012/2013 on Wednesday (28/8) at the Executive Lounge of Unpad Rectorate Building, Bandung.

Officially welcomed by the Rector, Prof. Ganjar Kurnia, Vice Rector of Research and Community Service & Cooperation, Dr. med. Setiawan, and the Head of Unpad International Affairs Unit, Anne Nurbaity, Ph.D., Hamaguchi, in his first visit to Bandung and Unpad, also met with several deans to discuss the possibility of cooperation between both universities.

He also gave a presentation on Nagoya University to the present deans showing that Indonesia is among the countries with the biggest number of students sent to study to the university. The programs offered by Hamaguchi to Unpad included joint degree, undergraduate program, joint research, and other substantive programs.

Several deans took a part in proposing possible cooperation related to the programs, such as graduate program, sandwich program, general lecture by professor from Nagoya University and joint research on international issues from the Law School, disaster management and aging sciences from Faculty of Nursing, double degree and student exchange both from Faculty of Economy and Business and Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, and joint research from Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.

Hamaguchi responded positively to the proposals saying that there was a chance to support and realize the programs. Responding to the offer, Dr. Setiawan planned to follow up the cooperation between Unpad and Nagoya University.
