[Unpad Media Channel] Rifki Nur Priyansyah Rachman graduated from Universitas Padjadjaran alongside his peers at Unpad’s 3rd Batch Graduation Ceremony for Academic Year 2023/2024 on Tuesday (6/2/2024). He was also chosen to receive the distinction of being the Best Graduate among bachelor’s degree students graduating that day.

Rifki graduated from the Communication Studies undergraduate program at Unpad’s Faculty of Communication Sciences (Fikom). During his studies, he frequently published his scientific works in various renowned journals.

One such work of his was published in a Q1 indexed international journal, Human Technology. On September of last year, Human Technology published an issue which included Rifki’s article titled “Factors Influencing Acceptance of Indonesian Contact Tracing App: Development of The Technology Acceptance Model”.

Furthermore, he also published a total of six other scientific works in Sinta-accredited journals. Among them, three are written in English, and three are written in Indonesian.

The six published articles are:
1. Validity and Reliability Tests on the Nomophobia Instrument with the Rasch Model
2. Cigarettes, Drugs, and Bullying Among Islamic School Students
3. When the Opposition Dominates the Conversation (Twitter Network Analysis about the Controversial Indonesian Constitutional Court Decision)
4. Penilaian Publik terhadap Aplikasi Peduli Lindungi (Analisis Komparasi terhadap Aspek Demografi)
5. Representasi Korban dan Pelaku Kekerasan Seksual di Artikel Berita: Analisis Isi Artikel Berita detik.com Tahun 2021-2022
6. Twitter sebagai Media Komunikasi Krisis Pemimpin Pemerintahan di Indonesia (Studi Gelombang Covid-19 Varian Delta dan Omicron)

In the beginning, Rifki only wrote scientific articles as part of the classes he took. However, the articles he wrote compelled him to get them published in national or international journals. The Communication Studies student felt that it would have been a waste if he didn’t publish the writings he already compiled, motivating him to make his articles worthy of publication.

“If I didn’t publish it, it would benefit no one. But if I did, others could read it gain some benefit from the article,” Rifki explained.

As for tips for students wishing to publish their scientific writings, he advises them to discover an interesting problem which would push them to find its solution. The existing literature should then be used as a guideline. “Afterwards, you would only have to compare your research with those that already exist,” he added.

Rifki then added that other students should look for journals which fit the article they are writing. They should also pay attention to the publishing date of the journal. “Say you aim to have the article published in June, that means you have to submit your draft three or four months before said publishing date. This is so you would not have to wait too long,” explained Rifki.

As he was studying at Unpad, Rifki felt he had plenty of help from the professors. “I am very grateful. Alhamdulillah, Unpad has proven to be a great place for learning. The professors are also supportive and willing to collaborate,” said Rifki.

For his part, Rifki made sure he got the most out of his studies by paying close attention to lectures and actively participating in class. “Make sure all of the material given at the lecture is fully understood,” said Rifki.

Rifki also participated actively in various Islamic study activities, such as studying the matn of hadiths. He also managed to finish several books written by important Islamic scholars during his studies.

After graduating, Rifki plans to continue his study by pursuing a master’s degree abroad, such as in Saudi Arabia. (arm/ICP)*
