[Unpad Media Channel] In efforts to enhance global recognition, Universitas Padjadjaran continues to encourage every study program to gain international recognition. One of the things done is getting an international accreditation certificate for the study program.
The Rector of Unpad Prof. Rina Indiastuti said that the acquisition of the international accreditation aimed to improve the study programs’ quality to establish Unpad as a world-reputed university and had impacts on society.
For the last few years, Unpad has set a goal for international accreditation acquisition for 48 study programs. The international accreditation preparations are made, including for Akkreditierungsagentur für Studiengänge der Ingenieurwissenschaften, der Informatik, der Naturwissenschaften und der Mathematik (ASIIN), Agency for Quality Assurance through Accreditation of Study Programs (AQAS), and Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA).
The process results in an outcome. Since 2021, some study programs at Unpad have succeeded in attaining international accreditation.
Here is the list of study programs which achieved international certificates.
Faculty of Law
Faculty of Law from Universitas Padjadjaran have succeeded in attaining international accreditation for three study programs from the FIBAA international accreditation agency on March 22nd, 2023. International accreditation from the prestigious accreditation agency in Europe is gained for the Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Master’s Degree in Law, and Doctoral Degree in Law.
The acquisition of these accreditations makes the three study programs from Unpad’s Faculty of Law internationally equivalent to other best Faculty of Law in Indonesia, even in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Faculty of Economics and Business
Fourteen study programs from the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Padjadjaran have succeeded in achieving international accreditation from the FIBAA agency with the “Accredited without Conditions” predicate which is effective from March 6th, 2024 – March 5th, 2029.
The fourteen study programs are Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Bachelor’s Degree in Islamic Economics, Bachelor’s Degree in Digital Business, Master’s Degree in Economics, Master’s Degree in Applied Economics, Master’s Degree in Management, Master’s Degree in Management Science, Master’s Degree in Integrated Microfinance Management, Doctoral Degree in Accounting, Doctoral Degree in Economics, and Doctoral Degree in Management Science.
Previously, in 2020, 14 study programs from Unpad’s Faculty of Economics and Business also succeeded in gaining certification of international accreditation from “The Alliance on Business Education and Scholarship for Tomorrow, a 21st Century Organization” or ABEST21.
Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences
The chemistry study program from Unpad becomes the first study program from Unpad’s Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences which achieves international accreditation from the “Royal Society of Chemistry” (RSC), a specialized accreditation agency for chemistry, Tuesday (26/10/2021).
RSC is the only global agency which conducts accreditation specifically for the field of chemistry. With this accreditation acquisition, various benefits can be obtained from Chemistry Unpad, one of which is that its graduates can be internationally recognized.
Furthermore, two engineering study programs from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, have succeeded in gaining Provisionally Accredited from the international accreditation agency in the field of engineering, “Indonesia Accreditation Board for Engineering Education” or “IABEE”, which is based in Indonesia on 2023.
Faculty of Psychology
Four study programs at the faculty of Psychology from Universitas Padjadjaran have accomplished international accreditation from the FIBAA agency, on Monday (2/10/2023). The four study programs are a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Psychology, a Professional Master’s Degree in Psychology, and a Doctoral Degree in Psychology. The four study programs have succeeded in achieving the accreditation based on the assessment result which was done on-site on June 20th – 21st, 2023.
FIBAA is a specialized agency for conducting accreditation for the field of socio-humanities. Even though the psychology science at Unpad falls under the health cluster, at the level of the Ministry, this field of study still falls within the socio-humanities cluster.
Faculty of Animal Husbandry
As many as three study programs of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry from Universitas Padjadjaran have achieve international accreditation from the ASIIN accreditation agency which is based in Germany. The three study programs are a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Husbandry, a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Husbandry of Pangandaran Campus, and a Doctoral Degree in Animal Husbandry.
ASIIN is a non-profit accreditation agency in the fields of engineering, computer sciences, natural sciences, and mathematics. This agency is registered by The European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR), also recognized by The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. This encourages the Faculty of Animal Husbandry at Unpad to apply for accreditation from ASIIN.
Faculty of Communication Sciences
Seven study programs from the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Unpad have succeeded in accomplishing international accreditation from the international accreditation agency of the Agency for Quality Assurance by Accreditation of Study Programs (AQAS) which is based in Germany. The accreditation is issued based on the meeting results of the AQAS Standing Commission on December 4th, 2023.
Seven study programs from Unpad’s Faculty of Communication Sciences that are internationally accredited by AQAS are Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences, Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Sciences, Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Management, Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences, and Doctoral Degree in Communication Sciences.
Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences
Five study programs from the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences at Universitas Padjadjaran have achieved the ASIIN international accreditation that is based in Germany. The five study programs are Fisheries, Marine Sciences, Fisheries of Pangandaran Campus, and Master’s Degree in Fisheries Sciences, and Magister in Marine Conservation. Those five study programs have undergone online international accreditation visitation on September 23rd – 29th, 2022.
Furthermore, the study program of Fisheries Sciences also accomplishes the acquisition of international accreditation from The Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology (IMarEST) which is based in England. This accreditation is issued for the next three years starting from May 2023. IMarEST, a prestigious agency in the field of marine, recognizes excellence and high-quality standards in the field of marine science.
Faculty of Agricultural Industrial Technology
Since 2022, Unpad’s Faculty of Agricultural Industrial Technology has succeeded in attaining the ISO 21001: 2018 certificate from the British Standard Institution. The ISO 21001 Standard is a specialized standard regarding educational management systems. This standard guarantees that the provided educational services are by the needs of users, in this case, students, as well as the needs of partners and by the standards set by the ministry, university, or those set by the Faculty of Agricultural Industrial Technology itself.
Moreover, on March 31st, 2024, the study program of Agricultural Technology gained the status of “Provisionally Accredited” in the discipline of “Agricultural and/or Bio-Systems Engineering in Bachelor Programs” from the international accreditation agency in the field of Engineering “Indonesia Accreditation Board for Engineering Education” or “IABEE”.
Faculty of Pharmacy
Five study programs from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Universitas Padjadjaran have accomplished the ASIIN international accreditation at the beginning of April 2022. The five study programs are a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, a Profession in Pharmacist, a Master’s Degree in Pharmacy, a Master’s Degree in Clinical Pharmacy, and a Doctoral Degree in Pharmacy.
Faculty of Geological Engineering
The study program of Unpad’s Geological Engineering achieves the status of “Provisionally Accredited” in the discipline of “Earth and Energy Engineering Programs” from the international accreditation agency in the field of engineering “Indonesia Accreditation Board for Engineering Education” atau “IABEE”
Graduate School
Two study programs at the Graduate School of Unpad have successfully achieved international accreditation from the international accreditation agency of the Agency for Quality Assurance by Accreditation of Study Programs (AQAS) based in Germany on June 21, 2023. These two programs are a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science and a Doctoral Degree in Environmental Science.
