Unpad Accepts 2,645 Prospective New Students for the SMUP Undergraduate Program

[Kanal Media Unpad]. Announcement of Padjadjaran University (SMUP) Student Admission for the Independent and Achievement Pathways for Bachelor level opened on Monday (18/7/2022) at 17.00 WIB. The graduation announcement can be seen on the page http://pengumuman.unpad.ac.id/home.

Unpad Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs Prof. Arief S. Kartasasmita explained that as many as 2,645 participants were declared to have passed the Independent Pathway Bachelor’s SMUP, while the percentage of participants who were declared to have passed the Achievement Pathway Bachelor’s SMUP was 11 percent of the 856 registrants.

“The number of participants accepted into the Independent Pathway is approximately 5 percent of the total registrants,” said Prof. Arief when interviewed by the Unpad Media Channel.

The selection process in the Independent Pathway has quite tight competition. This year, 45,362 applicants took part in the Independent Pathway Bachelor’s High School. A total of 12,626 participants chose to use the UTBK score scheme, while 32,736 applicants chose to take the independent exam. Of this amount, 29.91 percent was received from the UTBK scheme, while 70.09 percent was received from the independent examination scheme. Meanwhile, the percentage of SMUP Path capacity is 40 percent of the total Unpad Bachelor capacity.

Furthermore, Prof. Arief said that several SMUP Independent Path applicants were those who had chosen Unpad but did not pass the UTBK-SBMPTN. This indicates that prospective students’ interest in studying at Unpad is very high with the selection process being carried out strictly. “This indicates that competition to enter Unpad, even at Mandiri, is also tight.

“The participants are all over Indonesia, not just local Bandung, so it’s almost the same as SBMPTN,” he said.

In addition, as many as 23 percent of the total accepted into the Mandiri Route were participants in the Indonesia Smart-College Card (KIPK). Prof. Arief said that many KIPK participants who were accepted into this pathway reflected that the Unpad Independent Pathway was also intended for underprivileged prospective students.

“The Mandiri route is not only expensive, many KIPK participants are also accepted,” he stressed. For participants who passed, Prof. Arief appealed to make good use of this opportunity. “Do not waste it. “Re-register immediately and comply with the regulations set by Unpad,” he added.

Information on registration and filling in biodata can be seen on the SMUP Unpad page. Prof. Arief emphasized that the announcement of the Independent Pathway SMUP Bachelor’s graduation and achievements was only made once. There are no redials or payments outside the system. All tuition fee payments are made through banking partners.

“For those who have not been accepted, don’t be discouraged. “It doesn’t mean that those who are not accepted have less achievement, but the quota is limited, so they have to compete,” said Prof. Arief.

For participants who have not passed but still want to continue their studies at Unpad, Prof. Arief welcomes you to take part in the Applied Bachelor’s SMUP and International Pathway SMUP III. Registration for Applied Bachelor’s SMUP closes on July 20 2022, while International Pathway SMUP will close on July 27 2022.

Prof. Arief explained, this year, Achievement Pathway applicants are those who have achievements in the fields of sports, science and religion. For religious achievements, participants from all religions participated. The assessment mechanism in the Achievement Track is not only seen from the track record of achievements produced. However, the assessment will also look at the UTBK scores that have been taken.

The achievement criteria assessed are prioritized on an international scale or achievements recognized by the Ministry of Education and Culture. “You don’t just look at your achievements, but also your academics,” said Prof. Arief.

Unpad itself is committed to ensuring that prospective students continue to excel in their fields. “There will be programs, including the Independent Campus program, where achievements can be recognized as credits, so this can guarantee that these achievements will not be lost,” he concluded. .*
