[Unpad Media Channel] Universitas Padjadjaran’s Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) held an international conference for undergraduate students titled “Undergraduate International Conference (UGIC) 2024,” on Tuesday, June 11.

The hybrid international conference was held by Unpad FEB in collaboration with three other higher education institutions from Asia, namely Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Nanning University, and Chongqing Institute of Engineering.

With the theme of “Nurturing an Entrepreneurial Mindset Among Future Employees in Accelerating Business Success”, the conference included keynote speakers, such as Prof. Hasliza Abdul Halim, from the School of Management at Universiti Sains Malaysia, and Prof. Fan Fan from Nanning University, China.

According to a release received by Unpad Media Channel, the conference also included 10 select FEB students to present their papers, each a collaborative research between student and professor. From the conference, two book chapters will be published as a result of collaboration between the four universities. The chapters will discuss the topics of human resources management and entrepreneurship.

The Dean of Unpad FEB, Prof. Dr. Nunuy Nur Afiah, was very supportive of the program. It was initiated by Dr. Mohd Anuar Arshad and Dr. Haslindar Ibrahim, both from the School of Management at Universiti Sains Malaysia, as well as Alfiah Hasanah, Ph.D., the chair of the Economics bachelor’s degree program at FEB Unpad.

In their opening remarks, Prof. Li Ling from the Chongqing Institute of Engineering School of Management and Dr. Kurniawan Saefullah from Unpad FEB expressed their aspirations for UGIC going forward. Their aim is for this undergraduate conference to be a platform for students to become adept at actively participating in international academic events, whether they are collaborative research projects or international publications.

This collaboration will contribute to the accreditations of each international-standard study program involved. (release/ICP)*
