[Unpad Media Channel] Three professors from the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Padjadjaran have an opportunity to be guest lecturers at several universities in Germany and Austria through the Erasmus+ International-Teaching Mobility program.

The three Professors from the Faculty of Economics and Business at Unpad are Budi Harsanto, Ph.D., FHEA, as a guest lecturer in Osnabruck University of Applied Sciences, Germany, for the 2023/2024 summer semester, and Dr. Hilmiana, S.E., MBA and Dr. M, M. Nanny Dewi Tanzil, S. E., M.Comm., Ak as guest lecturers in University of Graz, Austria.

During the course held on May 11th–20th, 2024, Hilmiana delivered material about Human Resources Management (HRM), communication and negotiation, and gender in the context of Indonesian culture. Moreover, the material presented by Nanny Dewi is related to accounting research in Indonesia, research on the utility of accounting information during the pandemic, and the cost of capital for investments in Indonesia.

Furthermore, during the course held from May 13th to May 18th in Germany, Budi presented material about sustainable innovation in Indonesia, ASEAN, and globally in the intensive 14-block session, which carries a weight of 2.5 ECT. This event invites some professors from four other countries, namely the United States, India, Canada, and New Island.

According to Hilmiana, who became a guest lecturer in Austria, having the chance to gain international experience in sharing knowledge is very valuable for her. This enables her to study from various cultures and perspectives, improving her comprehension and appreciation of different academic approaches.

“These experiences broaden knowledge, enhance communication skills, and encourage innovation by presenting new ideas and practices. In addition, this helps establish a global connection network and opens the door to collaborative opportunities and shared growth. In general, sharing knowledge internationally will enrich personal and professional development and contribute to a more connected and informed world. I am very grateful for that,” she said.

Budi, who became a guest lecturer in Germany, stated a similar thing. He said that more valuable and fresh experiences are gained by being invited as a guest lecturer abroad.

Additionally, this strengthens the international collaboration between the two institutions. Through this program, he sees a unique approach applied by Osnabruck to widen the global skills of their students.

“The intensive lectures with a 14-block system over a week are dense but enjoyable. Referring to the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences policy, this lecturer aims to broaden the knowledge and international perspective of the students through direct interaction with guest lecturers from overseas. Besides, as guest lecturers, we also have the opportunity to interact, network, and collaborate with each other,” he said. (released/SA)*
