[Unpad Media Channel] CEO of PT Indonesia Digital Ecosystem (Indico) from Telkomsel, Andi Kristianto, MBA, presents a Guest Lecture titled “Digital Food Ecosystems,” which is organized by the Study Program of Agribusiness from Universitas Padjadjaran’s Faculty of Agriculture at Bale Sawala, Unpad Rectorate Building, Jatinangor, Monday (29/4/2024).

On that occasion, Andi explains the utilization of digital technology in agribusiness. He said that digitalization could open business development opportunities, bridging demand and supply more easily and affordably.

“How the demand and supply of digitalization and its derivatives can be more easily and more affordable,” stated Andi.

Andi explained that the development of digital technology encourages innovation in food ecosystems. He also emphasizes the importance of understanding the ecosystem and potential partners to provide solutions based on the strengths possessed.

“(We) Help them to reach our solutions,” said Andi. The 1st Vice-Dean from the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Ahmad Choibar Tridakusumah, Sp., MP, opens the event. The event is moderated by the Professor of Agribusiness from Unpad’s Faculty of Agriculture Prof. Tomy Perdana.

In his speech, Ahmad Choibar hopes this public lecture can broaden students’ knowledge of the digital food ecosystem.

According to him, digital technology can be beneficial in improving the efficiency of the food supply chain and logistics system, starting from the micro level (business actors) until the macro level (policy-makers). On the other hand, digital technology development also has the potential to enhance the import food products and has negative impacts on the quantity and quality of local products.

Therefore, smart and innovative breakthroughs are needed, one of which is through the optimal utilization of digital media. The efforts to open up various new market opportunities within the national logistics system are also needed.

“It is our great hope that the existence of digital technology encourages the formation of supply chain and logistics system which is efficient, responsive, inclusive, and fairness,” he hopes. (arm/SA)*
