[Unpad Media Channel] 51 proposals for the Student Creativity Program (Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa or PKM) from Universitas Padjadjaran in 2024 succeeds in obtaining funding from the Directorate General of Higher Education (Ditjen Dikti) of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. Unpad has succeeded in entering the top 15 of University Receives PKM Funding in 2024, ranking 11th nationally.

The Director of Student Affairs and Alumni Relations Dr. Boy Yoseph Cahya Sunan Sakti Syah Alam said that the number of PKM proposals that received funding this year had increased from the previous year, with 44 proposals securing funding.

Boy mentioned that the increase in the number of successful funding proposals was undoubtedly attributed to the growing enthusiasm and creativity of both students and supervising professors. Boy hopes that at the next PKM event, Unpad will keep continuing to show its improvement until enters the top 10.

“It needs lots of effort, but hopefully, if witness the spirits and commitment from the students, hopefully, it can be achieved,” said Boy.

Moreover, Boy also explained that Unpad had made various preparations to support the increasing number of PKM proposals which passed to the funding stage, in the form of training and evaluation to the PKM team who had sent the proposal but has not successfully secured funding yet.

The evaluation is conducted to find the proposal’s mistakes, so it can be improved to qualify for the next PKM.

“Keep improving, practising, and hopefully, it will get better. Evaluate the shortcomings, sometimes only in small parts,” said Boy.

Boy hopes that through this PKM event, students can keep up their spirits in improving creativity and new ideas. Boy also suggests students, especially those who prepare themselves to participate in this PKM program, not give up easily and have a strong mentality.

Furthermore, the ability to collaborate within a team and good time management skills are also crucial for achieving collective success.

“My message to those preparing for this PKM is to stay solid as a team, always have a strong mentality, high spirits, and believe that the process will not betray the results,” he explained.

Overall, the number of funded proposals consists of PKM-K (8 teams), PKM-KI (1 team), PKM-KC (3 teams), PKM-PI (1 team), PKM-PM (3 teams), PKM-RE (24 teams), and PKM-RSH (11 teams) from Faculty of Economics and Business (2 teams), Faculty of Medicine (3 teams), Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (10 teams), Faculty of Agriculture (4 teams), Faculty of Dentistry (2 teams), Faculty of Cultural Sciences (7 teams), Faculty of Psychology (4 teams), Faculty of Animal Husbandry (2 teams), Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (4 teams), and Faculty of Pharmacy (13 teams).
