(CTI) under the authorization of the Chinese Language and Education Center (CLEC) regarding the establishment of the Chinese Language and Innovation Center (CLIC). Soon, CLIC would be established at the Unpad campus.

Supported by the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, in Indonesia, CLIC would be built in four provinces such as West Java, Jakarta, Yogyakarta, and East Java. In West Java, CLIC would be managed by Universitas Padjadjaran, Institut London School of Public Relation, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, and Universitas Ciputra Surabaya.

The collaboration was implemented by signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of six universities in an online meeting, Saturday (9/9/2023). As for Unpad, the MoU was signed by the Rector of Unpad, Prof. Rina Indiastuti.

“The collaboration to establish the Chinese Language and Innovation Center is an implementation of Unpad commitment to support the robust collaboration between Indonesia and China,” said the Rector in her speech.

She said that Unpad itself had been a host for hundreds of students from China who had been studying the Indonesian language since 2015. Moreover, Unpad actively collaborated on academic and research with partner universities in China.

“The culture exchange already enriches the academic community and strengthens international bonds, which shows the spirit of collaboration between Indonesia and China,” mentioned the Rector.

Establishing the Chinese Language and Innovation Center at Unpad was an excellent initiative to enhance Indonesia and China’s education and cultural relations. Unpad was committed to build and develop the center as a platform to exchange knowledge, skills, and experience between Indonesia and China.

“We have high expectations that this collaboration will create a beneficial partnership. By CLIC as the point, our goal is to enhance the understanding of Chinese language and culture, also promote innovation in education,” added the Rector.

Furthermore, The Indonesian Embassy for China, Djauhari Oratmangun, appreciated the establishment of the Chinese Language and Innovation Center. The center was expected to improve Indonesian students’ knowledge to know and comprehend Chinese culture.

“Similarly, young Chinese people were also expected to know and understand the required technology in Indonesia,” said Djauhari. (arm/SA)*
