[Kanal Media Unpad] As a part of Universitas Padjadjaran’s Student Orientation for the 2022/2023 Academic Year, Unpad first-year students attended the Student’s Day event that was held at Unpad Jatinangor Campus on Tuesday (23/8/2022).

The Student’s Day event began with a parade of student organizations, such as the Student Executive Board (BEM), Student Activity Unit (UKM), Student Association, and the Unpad Autonomous Art Board (BSO). The event then continued with a bazaar session participated by the student organizations and the BSO. This bazaar session was held at two venues, namely Balai Santika and PPBS.

During the bazaar session, the first-year students were able to visit various booths to find out more details about the available extracurricular activities for students.

According to the Project Officer of Prabu 2022, Raihan Abdillah Farros, Student’s Day is a day meant to introduce new students to the student organizations in Unpad.

“By having the Student’s Day event today, it’s expected that the new students of batch 2022 will be acquainted with all of the student activities in Unpad, namely BEM, BPM, UKM, and Unpad BSO,” he stated.

Raihan also hoped that, after attending Student’s Day, students would feel encouraged to achieve various accomplishments and triumphs, both in academic and non-academic settings.

One of the first-year students, Mery Intan Sahara, a Public Sector Accounting student from Bandung, expressed her impression of the event.

“I was very happy and excited to have attended the Student’s Day event and the Student Organization Bazaar, which were two parts of the Student Orientation,” she stated.

Mery is now interested in joining one of the Student Activity Units (UKM), namely AIESEC Unpad, an international youth organization that focuses on leadership skills and social work. She said, “I’m interested in joining AIESEC because I can develop my leadership skills there.” (mnr)*
