[Unpad.ac.id, 16/11/2016] In order to obtain information about State University as Legal Entities (PTN-BH), Dean of the Faculty of Da’wa and Communication Studies Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University, Dr. Arief Subhan, M.Ag., visited Universitas Padjadjaran on Monday (14/11).
The visit was received by the Vice Rector of Resources and Governance Unpad, Dr. Sigid Suseno, M. Hum., and Director of Governance and Public Communication Dr. Soni A. Nulhaqim, S. Sos., M.Sc., in Vice Rector Office in the Rectorate Building, Jatinangor. On that occasion, Dr. Arief wanted to know how the process changes into PTN Unpad Law Firm.
“Unpad is one of the universities that have received its Legal Entities status, so we come here to learn how the change Unpad experience from previous status into PTN as Legal Entity. The knowledge will be used for our preparation of submission to be the State Board of Law,” said Dr. Arief during the interviewe after the visit.
Further, Dr. Arief said, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah is mandated by the Ministry of Religious Affairs to be State Legal Entity this year. This effort then continue to be driven by the leadership of UIN with study visits to 11 universities that have the status of legal entity PTN.
In addition to visits the four state universities who had just become PTN Legal Entity, UIN also made visits to seven other state universities who are already status PTN Legal Entitiy. “We want to see how the productivity that has generated the academic community related to PTN Legal Entitiy,” said Dr. Arief.
Through the visit, Dr. Arief wanted to know about the PTN Legal Entities, including technical management at Unpad, the challenges it faced, the consequences borne after being PTN Legal Entity, and the advantage of Unpad had after being PTN Legal Entity.
Meanwhile, Dr. Sigid appreciated the effort of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah to become PTN Legal Entity. With Dr. Soni, he explained the intricacies of Unpad process as PTN Legal Entity, ranging from the preparation stage to the autonomy of the various Unpad.
According to Dr. Arief itself, autonomy is a necessity in managing universities. This autonomy will not be obtained without performing a variety of preparations. So through this comparative study, Syarif Hidayatullah should be able to be a PTN of Legal Entity within the next two years.
“We can not go forward and obtain autonomy if not getting knowledge from others. The point is that autonomy is not only academic but also non-academic,” he concluded. *
