Supporting Regulation Becomes Crucial in SDGs Achievement

[Unpad.ac.id, 13/10/2016] Faculty of Law and SDGs Center Universitas Padjadjaran in collaboration with Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency held a workshop on National Strategy for Regulatory Reform: Synergy Policies and Regulations in Support of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the Executive Lounge Unpad, Jln. “This workshop is one of the concrete form of Bappenas in an effort to consolidate the development stakeholders in improving the government’s policy regarding the importance of synergies between simple and orderly policies and regulations to support the SDGs,” said Expert Staff to the Minister of VAT Division of Institutional Relations , Dr. Diani Sadiawati, SH., LLM.

Further, Dr. Diani conveyed that one important thing in achieving the SDGs is the support of regulation. This regulation became the backbone or significant support. It is also likely that a national strategy is being pursued in regulatory reform, namely ensuring proper regulation and synergistic. Otherwise, a lot of inefficiency between the planning and regulations drafted.

The event was opened by Dean of the Faculty of Law, Universitas Padjadjaran Dr. An An Chandrawulan, SH, LLM. On the occasion Dr. An An said that sustainable development will not run properly without the support of good regulation, which would support the development itself. According to him, various development issues occur because of any regulations that overlap.

In addition, Dr. An An argued that economic growth often run faster than the growth of law or regulation. She also welcomed the national strategy bureaucratic reforms that have been defined since October 2015. In this regard, the cooperation also needs to be done in achieving sustainable development.

“These reforms had been duly and become very important to be done in a variety of fields,” said Dr. An An.

Meanwhile, Executive Director of Unpad SDGs Center, Dr. Anshory Arief Yusuf revealed that regulations supporting sustainable that should be of interest to the present generation and the next.
