[Unpad.ac.id, 22/08/2016] As State Universities with the highest number of applicants in Indonesia in the last 5 years, level of stringency of the selection at the Universitas Padjadjaran is comparatively high. Therefore Unpad students are encouraged to take advantage of their studies well; one of them is to complete studies on time. Even for special academic ability, Rector offers a fast track program that allows students to take courses of study before the study period completed courses.
This was conveyed by Rector, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad, during his speech in the Ceremony of Admissions, Academic Year 2016/2017 at Universitas Padjadjaran Campus Jatinangor Jati Stadium, Monday (22/08). Unpad admitted 7,970 new students of program Diploma 4, Bachelor, Profession, Specialist, and Graduate. The ceremony was attended by professors and leaders of Universitas Padjadjaran, new students for academic year 2016/2017, Governor of Maluku Province Ir. H. Said Assagaf, Vice Governor of West Java, H. Dedy Mizwar, and up to 27 leaders and representatives of the leadership of the City/Regency in West Java.
The high level of stringency made prospective students who passed the entrance Unpad are the best individuals. To that end, Rector believes that new students 2016/2017 should be use the opportunity to study at Padjadjaran by putting forward the best performance and be able to complete the study in established standards, i.e. 8 semesters or 4 years.
“Your future success in completing studies on time will provide optimal opportunities for prospective students in general,” said Rector.
To support this, Unpad encourages in optimizing the learning facilities to students. In 2016/2017, the facility Unpad scholarships for new students, including: program affirmation Unpad Nyaah ka Jabar, free education for students of department of Bachelor of Medicine and Physician Specialist faculty, provision of student dormitories, as well as the provision of educational scholarships from donors.
Aside from encouraged for academic skills improvement, Unpad new students are also encouraged to know Jatinangor campus environment. The students will go directly to the 14 villages in the district Jatinangor to recognize the condition as well as doing community engagement in the village.
Meanwhile at Graduate level, new admissions process has focused on aspects of the research plan of each prospective student. This is in line with the strategic plan of Universitas Padjadjaran of 2015-2019 “Being a University Research and Competitive Regional”.
“Outcomes of graduate program is expected to provide greater leverage for the development and progress of the nation’s competitiveness,” said Rector.
Dedi Mizwar also appreciated the new students Unpad 2016/2017. “Be thankful you can be accepted at one of the leading universities in Indonesia. Gratitude was not simply giving your thanks to God, but must be shown with the spirit of learning. You are the recipient of the relay keeper of sovereignty of this country in the midst of global competition, “said Dedi.
During the event, educational scholarships to new students are symbolically given, including: from Bank Jabar Banten (BJB) and the provincial government for New Student Programs Bachelor of Medicine and Physician Specialists, as well as scholarships for students from the Maluku students from Maluku provincial government in preparing HR in the Masela block. *
