ERP is a business management application aiming to facilitate business management in integrated manner on the basis of information technology. This year, ERP will include four directorates at Universitas Padjadjaran, namely the Directorate of Planning, Directorate of Finance, Directorate of Infrastructure, and Directorate of Human Resources.

In implementing this system, Unpad works with PT. Sigma Solutions Integration as implementing partners. “We want to have a partner, together with Unpad, building higher education,” said Director of Technology and Information Systems, Universitas Padjadjaran, Drs. Gatot Riwi., M.Sc.

The choice to go with Oracle was conducted based on several reasons, such as availability and complete module, practicality in implementation and application usage, and setting up on Unpad’s existing system, success story from similar institution and track record from users.

“At this moment, the work program has been drawn up for the next 6 months, in order to prepare the application, and will be followed by the next three months mentoring process,” said Gatot.

“We are expecting in the next 6 months, by the beginning of next year, ERP will be well implemented in Unpad,” he said.

Rector Unpad, Prof Tri Hanggono Achmad, hoped that Unpad does not only implemented the system but also possess other academic target. One of his hopes is for Unpad to be able to conduct similar or even more advanced application development. In the future, implementation would also be done in other work units in Unpad or beyond.

“During the implementation, we also work to build something that we could share together,” said Rector.*
