[Unpad.ac.id, 1/06/2016] Student of Statistics Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science (FMIPA) Universitas Padjadjaran won third place of National Statistics Challenge (NSC) 2016 held by Division of Organization Research under Statistics Studio of Student Association of Mathematics and Statistics (Himamasta) FMIPA Universitas Brawijaya Malang, May 2016.
Participating in this national-level activity were students of Mathematics and Statistics in Indonesia. This year NSC set forward the theme of “Mastering the World By Analyzing the Data”.
In 2016, NSC was divided into three stages, the preliminary, semi-final and grand final. There were 40 teams qualified for the semi-finals of the 408 teams that participate in the competition. Statistics Unpad managed to remain as the last three teams to advance to the semi-finals, and one of them made it into the grand final.
After an intense grand final round, Statistics Unpad team won Third Place in the competition. Muhammad Ihsan Mustika and Devi valiantly won and became the first to set achievement for Statistics Unpad at the national level.
The first winner of the NSC in 2016 was Universitas of Gadjah Mada. The Second place was Universitas Brawijaya. Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November came out in Fourth Place, and Institut Pertanian Bogor in Fifth Place.*
