[Unpad.ac.id, 31/05/2016] The Joint Selection exam of State Universities (SBMPTN) 2016 will be held simultaneously on Tuesday (31/05). Local Committee (Panlok) Bandung noted that the total participants in the SBMPTN in Bandung and Tasikmalaya are amounted to 46,056 people.
Executive Secretary I of Bandung SBMPTN Local Committee, Prof. Dr. Asep Gana Suganda said that the amount was of 43,056 participants in the Bandung area, and 3,000 participants in Tasikmalaya. This figure exceeds the target set by local committee previous registrants, i.e 42,800 people.
“There were 218 test locations in Bandung with number of supervisors reaching 4,308 people,” said Prof. Asep in Press Conference for SBMPTN 2016 held in Building V Labtek Campus Institute of Technology Bandung, Tuesday (31/05). Attending the press conference were Rector Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad, Rector ITB, UPI, and UIN Sunan Gunung Jati, as well as Chairman of the Bandung SBMPTN Local Committee who is also Vice Rector of Academic and Student Affairs Unpad Dr. Arry Bainus, M.A.
In addition to written exam, local committee also provided computer-based selection methods (Computer Based Testing). In Bandung, CBT-based selection exercise is followed by 320 people across three state universities as CBT centers, Universitas Padjadjaran (100 participants), UPI (100 participants) and ITB (120 participants).
Dr. Arry said that SBMPTN CBT in Unpad was held in Building C Faculty of Medicine campus, Jatinangor. CBT selection was only for participants who choose only Social Humaniora or only Science. For participants who choose mixed group, the test still uses the Paper Based Test (PBT).
Unpad would admit 3,074 prospective new students from SBMPTN. In SNMPTN, Padjadjaran admit 3,064 new students with total applicants reaching 58,937 people. This amount put Unpad as State university with highest number of applicants SNMPTN in Indonesia.
To anticipate cheaters, Dr. Arry said that local committee will punish participants who get caught using an illegal surrogate on SBMPTN this time. “We have put every effort to avoid any illegal surrogate. Clearly, if they were caught, we will not hesitate to impose sanctions for the participants and the surrogate, “said Dr. Arry.
In addition, Rector also said that participants and the general public are encouraged to be cautious of any information that did not come from SBMPTN committee. “We remind the public to not be easily deceived by various bids, issue, or misleading information,” said Rector. *
