[Unpad.ac.id, 14/04/2016] Universitas Padjadjaran received visit from staffs of Bureau of Education Youth and Sport (Disdikpora) Purwakarta Regency. The visit were welcomed officially by Director of Governance and Public Communication Dr. Soni A. Nulhaqim, S.Sos., M.Si., in Unpad Training Center Building, Jalan Ir. H. Djuanda No. 4, Bandung, Thursday (14/04).

Head of Secondary Education Section of Disdikpora Purwakarta Regency Drs. H. Diaudin, M.Si., as head of the group said the official visit to Unpad is held in order to discuss about admission mechanism in Unpad. “We visited Unpad to get comprehensive information, to be later conveyed directly to the community and teachers,” said Diaudin.

As known by Diaudin, Unpad has contributed to improvement of primary and secondary education in the Purwarkarta district. One of these contributions the naming of schools with names of Kings from Sunda Kingdom. This effort was also a follow-up of cooperation with Faculty of Arts, Universitas Padjadjaran with Purwakarta regency.

“Until now Regent has issued three decrees in relation to this naming. The aim was for the children of Purwakarta to know more about characters of the historical Sundanese, “explained Diaudin.

On the occasion, Dr. Soni also explained admission mechanism at Universitas Padjadjaran, SNMPTN and SBMPTN. According to Dr. Soni, Unpad is not opening independent admission for undergraduate programs. Independent admission is opened only for Diploma (III and IV) and Postgraduate programs.

Based on data from Bureau of Academic, in the academic year of 2016/2017 Unpad capacity through SNMPTN and SBMPTN are 6128 people for 51 study programs at Bachelor level. He also said that, in the last four year, Unpad is the state university with the highest number of applicants in Indonesia.

“For the number SNMPTN applicants are now determined based on the school accreditation. Accreditation A receives a quota of 75% of the best in school, Accreditation B is 50%, C is 20%, and 10% for the below accreditation, “said Dr. Soni.

In relation to this admission system, he also suggested for prospective students to be aware of the various fraud schemes using the name of Unpad. Most often, said Dr. Soni, one is promising to help prospective students to be admitted in Unpad.

In addition to the admission information, Dr. Soni also discussed about program “Unpad Nyaah ka Jabar”. The first program was initiated by the 10th Unpad Rector Prof. Ganjar Kurnia as an affirmation program for students from 27 City/Regency in West Java to be admitted in Unpad.

Based on data from 2015, there were 78 Purwakarta students studying in Unpad. Of these, nine of them are recipient of Bidikmisi program.

In the process, program “Unpad Nyaah ka Jabar” is not just a program of affirmation, but also contributing to building the region. This program was introduced by Rector, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad, as program of “Strategic Alliance Universitas Padjadjaran, West Java (Jabar Asup).

Ita Indriani, Head of Secretariat Division Suryaman, Head of Public Relations and Protocol Division Rury Ratnasari, S. Sos., Head of Homeland Cooperation Division Budi Widarsa Surya, and Head of Selection and Registration Division Ahmad Baehaqi.*
