[Unpad.ac.id, 25/03/2016] Mastery of information becomes a strategy in managing an institution. The existence of library becomes an important part in supporting it. Not only as a place to accommodate and release information, the library should be able to be the “brain” of the university with capacity to process information and ability to “think”.
“I believe that if the strength of universities lies in academic ability it is because because it has a “brain” (and therefore) must have a prototype, that in the existing university anatomy brain plays the. Well that is exactly what we have to build, “said Rector in Workshop University Library Development Universitas Padjadjaran” at Unpad Training Center, Jln. Ir. H. Djuanda No. 4 Bandung, Saturday (25/03).
According to Rector, the idea has been always present but not yet been integrated. Effort and support from various fields to support it, not just UPT Library, are necessary.
Rector also explained that a time limit is necessary in building it whole, starting from content development and the “brain” container, as well as various related matters. Hopefully, by the end of this academic year functions and systems draft of the “brain” have been formed and is to be followed by infrastructure development patterns preparation.
At the workshop, a number of Unpad leaders also expressed their views in the development of Universitas Padjadjaran Library. Attending the event were Vice Rectors, Head of Unpad Library Unit, Head of Unpad Press Unit, Director of Education, Director of Technology and Information Systems, Director of Research and Community Services, Director of Innovation, Corporate Academic and Business, Director of Facilities and Infrastructure, Director of Human Resources, and Director of Governance and Public Communication.*
