[Unpad.ac.id, 3/02/2016] Rector Universitas Padjadjaran, Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad, inaugurated the chairman and deputy chairman of Student Executive Board, chairman of Student Representative Council, and chairman of the 35 Student Activity Units Unpad, Wednesday (03/02) in the Ruang Serba Guna 4th Floor Building 2 Unpad, Jalan Dipati Ukur No. 35, Bandung. The inauguration was attended by the leadership and deans in Unpad.
In his speech, Rector said that Student Organization (ORMAWA) is one of the important components in State University as Legal Entities. Thus Rector confirmed that current student activities cannot be separated from academic activities, and was not to become part of separate management by study program.
“Chairman of Study Program is responsible in facilitating various student activities,” said Rector.
Furthermore, Rector said that the future academic products are expected to be born from the students. It is a challenge for the leaders Student Organization together with Study Program to encourage student activities increase in Unpad. This push is also expected to build leadership qualities in every student.
There are three messages to the leadership Student Organization from Rector during inauguration. First, leadership of Student Organization to be able to facilitate students in Unpad and organized properly. Second, leadership Student Organization to be able to provide encouragement to other students for active organization life.
“The more students involved in organization body the better,” he added.
The third message is for the leaders Student Organization to be creative in implementing planned work program. This implementation is also expected to have synergy with students or other stakeholders. “You should never say you can’t. The proposal has been a wonderful idea, it’s a matter of how those ideas are realized, “said Rector.
Based on Rector Decree 342/UN6.RKT/Kep/2016 on The Management of Student Organization in Unpad 2016, the duration of the leadership of Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the BEM, Chairman of BPM, and leaders of SMEs is set up from February 3, 2016 until Desember 31.*
