[Unpad.ac.id, 23/12/2015] “Smooth and pure hands, have supported one, body and soul and all her life is for given the purposes of…”, was a part of the song sung by the members of Union Dharma Wanita (DWP) Universitas Padjadjaran during Mother’s Day celebration in Unpad Training Center Building, Jl. Ir. H. Djuanda No. 4, Bandung, Selasa (22/12).
The events with theme of ” Role of Mothers in Developing National Character” was opened by Rector Unpad Prof. Tri Hanggono Achmad. In this event, he mentioned his deep appreciation for the event, not only as meeting but also celebrating a very important moment for all of us. He said that role of mothers is very remarkable and could never be never replaced or very difficult to compare.
We may not be born without a mother, and could not be standing here without the devotion of one. Great strength is not achieved by one’s own achievements, but by parts of deeds of our families, “said Rector.
Furthermore, Rector said, the challenges faced in the future will be more and more remarkable; powerful communication and solidarity must be awakened and made part of the efforts or the good intentions that came from family and culture to support the development of the nation. It is important for us to prepare the next generations, build value. Respect must always appear although upheld value of every age will have its own characteristics.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Union Dharma Wanita (DWP) Universitas Padjadjaran, Tina Tri Hanggono Achmad, in her speech said, “As a mother we have a very important role to improve human resources quality in order to support nation’s competitiveness. This event is not just a celebration, but holding deeper meaning of sharing experiences and inspiration to continue keeping our commitment as a mother in maintaining the quality of the household. Because of strength of the household, the nation will be strong as well, especially in building character of our children that are very much needed as stronger capital to build the nation, “she said.
While Ustadzah Hj. Lenny Umar in her Tausiah said, “Home is where inner and outer rehabilitation for children and our husbands, so envelope them with affection. Mother is a partner for Father because behind the success of every man there is a strong woman. Make your home as a place to share discussion event for families. Educate children well, Hopefully it would bring good for us as well. A good mother would not leave her position as the queen of the household. ”
This event was attended by not only the members, but also by the senior leaders of the former DWP Unpad, Ibu Hindersah and Ibu Nani Maman P. Rukmana who was represented by Ibu Nani Maman to reminisce, share experiences and inspiration to the audience. In addition the event also featured exhibitions featuring work of members of DWP, ranging from craft clothing, food and a wide range of accessories, which displayed interesting artistic value. *
