Unpad’s Faculty of Humanities goes into partnership with Doho University Japan

[Unpad.ac.id, 1/11/2013] Faculty of Humanities (FIB) of Universitas Padjadjaran signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Doho University Faculty of literature, Japan, Friday (1/11) in Jatinangor. The MoA was signed by the dean of Unpad’s Faculty of Humanities, Prof. Dr. Dadang Suganda, M. Hum., and the rector of Doho University, Prof. Asano Gensei.

This cooperation is a follow-up to FIB’s visit to Doho University in September. According to Prof. Dadang, this cooperative partnership arrangement will manage student and teacher exchange both from Unpad and Doho University, curriculum arrangement, double degree and twinning programs, joint research, as well as producing an international academic journal.

“The graduate program in Cultural Studies here at Faculty of Humanities focuses on the study of Sundanese culture. We would like to invite Doho University to visit several central areas of Sundanese arts in West Java,” said Prof. Dadang. This partnership is expected to introduce Universitas Padjadjaran as well as Indonesian culture to the Japanese people, and vice versa.

In response, Prof. Asano from Doho University, through Unpad, keenly seeks to establish and continually maintain a cooperative partnership in education between Japan and Indonesia. We expect many Japanese to study Indonesian culture here at Unpad’s Faculty of Humanities in order to improve our human resource quality, especially those who pursue a career here,” Prof. Asano concluded. *
