Table tennis tournament “Unpad Open II” gathers talented athletes to compete at international level

[Unpad.ac.id, 27/11/2013] Table Tennis Championship “Padjadjaran Open II” was held on Saturday (23/11) to Monday (25/11) at Graha Sanusi Hardjadinata Unpad campus, Bandung. The Championship was held as a series of Unpad’s 56th Anniversary.

The chairperson of Unpad table tennis club, Nunung Nurhanifah, revealed that this year’s championship was participated by 572 people comprising of 109 in male category, 54 in female, 89 in junior male, 42 in junior female, 141 in https://www.unpad.ac.id/wp-admin/post-new.phpsenior male, 29 in senior female, and 108 in veteran category.

After going through a series of knockout matches, the winners emerged from each category. They got cash for a total of 73 million rupiahs along with a trophy and certificate.

On the occasion, rector of Unpad, Prof. Ganjar Kurnia hoped that the Championship would be able to attract talented athletes who may become Indonesia’s representative at the international level Championship. “Next year, hopefully Unpad Open will be attended by participants from the ASEAN level,” he added.
