FIB becomes the 2013 overall winner at the 6th OOTrad Padjadjaran

[Unpad.ac.id, 4/11/2013] Winning 10 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze medals, Unpad Faculty of Arts (FIB) becomes the overall winner at the 6th Traditional Sports Olympic Games (OOTrad) Padjadjaran.

FIB wins the gold medals in several game categories, namely Male Walking Stilts Marathon, UCamaintian (chess tournament), Rengkenek (dance competition), and Pawai Alegoris (Parade). FIB wins the dance competition due to perfect combination of idea, aerobic movement and Sundanese dance choreography, all of which are assessment factors.

As for the silver and bronze medals, FIB earns them from several other categories, namely  Male Galah Asin tournament, Male Sorodot Gaplok, and Culinary Festival competition.

Ranti Rahmawanti, a graduate student representing FIB Unpad, admits that the achievement is scored as a result of outstanding performance of FIB’s lecturers, administrative staff, and students who are willing their best for FIB Unpad. “We are very excited. And we hope that we can maintain this,” says she.

The OOTrad, in commemoration of Unpad’s 56th anniversary, is opened by Unpad rector’s lighting OOTrad torch, immediately followed by the city parade at 6 am. All faculties and staff march from north gate, cycling Bandung Car Free Day area in Dago before finally returning to Unpad campus in Bandung.

The program continues as all participants take part in game competitions namely Rengkenek Bandung (dance competition), Tutunggulan (Nabeuh Lisung), Galah Asin, Perepet Jengkol, Marathon Egrang, Panahan, Sumpit, Sorodot Gaplok, Panggal/Gasing, Saptalomba Tradisional, Festival Kuliner, Seleksi Awal Ucamaintian, and Korfball.

 

Besides FIB, few win some medals. Faculty of nursing becomes the third consolation prize winner; Research and Community Service Center becomes the second consolation prize winner; Faculty of Fishery and Marine Science becomes the first consolation prize winners. As for Faculty of Animal Husbandry and Faculty of Geological Engineering, they win the runner up and third place, respectively.
