Unpad ready to contribute to the increase in national competitiveness

[Unpad.ac.id, 11/10/2013] The fact that Unpad is now ready to contribute to the increase in national competitiveness is emphasized in a seminar on formulating solution for excellent competitiveness, organized to commemorate its 56th anniversary in collaboration with National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) on Thursday (10/10) at Aula MM Faculty of Business and Economics.

Prof. Dr. Rina Indiastuti, SE., MSIE., when speaking at the seminar “Formulating Solution to Increase National Competitiveness on October 10, 2013

“Unpad’s duty to serve the communities can perhaps be implemented through policy making, collaborating with its stakeholders such as Bappenas,” said Rina Indiastuti, vice rector of planning, information system, and finance, who was also one of the speakers at the event.

After previous series of focus group discussions, Indiastuti, together with other speakers, namely Yuyun Wirasasmita, Ganjar Kurnia, Sutyastie S. Remi, Ernie Sule, Rina Indiastuti, Oekan S. Abdoellah, Dede Mariana, Ina Primiana, Nury Effendi, Budiono, Ronnie Natawidjaja, Kodrat Wibowo, Arief Anshory Yusuf, Yayan, Deni K. Sunjaya, Maman Setiawan, Mohamad Fahmi, R.M. Purnagunawan, An An Chandrawulan, and Adiatma Siregar, recommended five solution priorities deemed effective to achieve increase in the nation economic competitive competence.

“We do not only recommend the solution priorities but also validate them in this seminar to fit every dimension or sector that would boost people’s welfare,” she added.

With a high hope that it would result in a synergy between the government and academicians and create a breakthrough to increase the level of the nation’s competitiveness, the recommendation is to be compiled in a book and handed in to Bappenas at the end of October. “We are inviting all parties to help disseminate the book. Hopefully it can be referred to prior to policy making,” she concluded.
