Prof. Ganjar Kurnia receives Doctor Honoris Causa from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia

[Unpad.ac.id, 25/10/2013] Unpad Rector, Prof. Ganjar Kurnia, DEA., will receive Doctor Honoris Causa (Ijazah Kehormat Doktor Falsafah or Honorary Degree in Philosophy) in Educational Administration from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). The degree is scheduled to hand to Prof. Kurnia on Saturday (26/10) at UKM Selangor, Malaysia.

In their release, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia explained that it is an award for Prof. Kurnia’s service and commitment to education particularly through a number of cooperation programs between both universities.

The programs include double degree program between Unpad and UKM in both medical schools and Indonesian-Malaysian Cultural Symposium (SKIM). The symposium in a biannual event organized by both universities since 1985, and Unpad will host the upcoming SKIM XIII on November 12-14, 2013.

Both Unpad dan UKM have been internationally acknowledged as educational institution. It is proven by the number of international students studying and graduating from them. Recently there are 1,170 international students studying and Unpad, and 2,937 students in UKM. The numbers of alumni from international program recorded graduating from the universities are 212,648 alumni and 146,362 alumni from Unpad and UKM respectively.
