“Me, graduated the youngest? Well, I fell both proud and ecstatic. Surprised, too. Perhaps this is because the education system that Faculty of Medicine has been practicing—encouraging its students to graduate on time. What’s more, family support,” said Marlin when interviewed at RS. Hasan Sadikin.

Marlin is currently participating in Medical doctor profession program in Unpad. He, the first of four sibling, went to elementary school when he was only five. He attended junior high school in Santa Maria, Padang, only in two years due to acceleration program. Afterward, he went to SMAN 10 in Bandung where he graduated at 16.

“I went places a lot because of my parents’ profession. But I adapt very quickly,” said he.

When asked about his academic achievement, Marlin admitted that his grade was average. In fact, he said that he did not feel content with his Cumulative Achievement Index (IPK equivalent to GPA). He joined several organizations, but not too active. He joined student senate, center for Indonesian Medical Students Activities, and Christian Student Association Unpad.

“But I felt very comfortable studying in Unpad. We’re close to each other. Teachers are excellent too. What’s more the sytem runs very well,” Marlin concluded.

Students could also benefit from the event. Physics department, according to Risdiana, has been developing learning methods based on research, in which students are provided not only with imaginary formula but also media for direct implementation.

“Hopefully, this will also enable us to introduce our pieces of research to the international audience and develop joint research in both national and international level,” Risidiana concluded.
