Maluku Tengah Regency Establishes Cooperation with Unpad

[Unpad.ac.id, 1/05/2013] The regent of Maluku Tengah, Tuasikal Abua, S.H., is now collaborating with Unpad in terms of providing the region with medical professionals that the community is lacking of.

The cooperation between the two was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by the regent of Maluku Tengah and Unpad Rector in his office in Jatinangor on Tuesday (1/5) before Maluku Tengah Regency officials and Unpad faculties, most of whom are from Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Nursing, and Faculty of Economics and Business, as well as the director for cooperation office Unpad.

“We have plenty of health centers and hospitals, however, medical professionals are still wanting, especially general practitioners. There are some, but they are non-permanent. So, we find it beneficial that we establish cooperation with Unpad for this university offers excellent education program,” said Abua.

Abua added that the cooperation would guarantee the availability of qualified medical professionals for Maluku Tengah. “Hopefully, students from Maluku Tengah who are to study in Unpad would score numerous achievements and would eventually returns to their hometown, Maluku Tengah in order to bring development to the region,” said he.

The rector expressed his gratitude toward the regent of Maluku Tengah for entrusting their potential individuals to pursue their study in Unpad. “We are very much encouraged to take part in developing regions in the eastern part of Indonesia. We welcome all outstanding individuals to get their education here,” the rector concluded.
