Kwansei Gakuin University Establishes Academic Cooperation with Unpad

[Unpad.ac.id, 8/05/2013] Kwansei Gakuin University, Japan, takes Unpad to be involved in ASEAN & Japan Academic Exchange Program together with two other universities from ASEAN countries, namely University of Malaya Malaysia, and Assumption University Thailand.

Two of Kwansei Gakuin University’s representatives, Tomoharu Washio and Masao Okuno, visited Unpad to exlain the program and its objectives. In a nutshell, the program aims at collecting views on Japan and the best manners in which the country should establish international relations with ASEAN countries.

Welcoming the representatives were Vice Rector III Unpad, Dr. Med. Setiawan, dr., Director of Cooperation Office, Ramdan Panigoro, PhD., speciall staff of cooperation, Handarto, S.TP., MAgr., PhD., and Prof. Yanyan M. Yani, MA., PhD from the department of International Relation, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP).

“The program invites Unpad lecturers to give talks in Kwansei Gakuin in August 2013 and runs ASEAN Project Research Trip in September 2013 in which Kwansei Gakuin will take classes in Unpad. Unpad has recommended Prof. Yani to give the talk,” said Handarto.

Further cooperation programs are to be discussed and elaborated. The program that is being developed is going to be made as a model for future collaboration.
