Unpad Admits 2095 New Students via SBMPTN 2013 Route

[Unpad.ac.id, 5/04/2013] Besides SNMPTN route that stresses student’s achievement index during high school, this year Unpad also admits its new students via SBMPTN (national collective entrance examination).  This year admission suggests that 60% of the total freshmen will be admitted via SNMPTN, and the remainder via SBMPTN.

“The quota totals 3733 for SNMPTN and 2095 for SBMPTN,” said Unpad vice rector I, Engkus Kuswarno in a press conference on SBMPTN 2013 at the Unpad Executive Lounge in Dipati Ukur campus on Thursday (4/4). Also speaking in the press conference were vice rector I Indonesia Education University (UPI), Furqon, vice rector I Islamic State University (UIN) Sunan Gunung Djati, Afifuddin, and vice rector I Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Kadarsah Suryadi, and the secretary of SBMPTN organizing committee, Asep Gana Suganda.

Online registration for SBMPTN 2013 starts May 13, 2013 at 08.00 WIB to June 7, 2013 at 22.00 WIB at http://ujian.sbmptn.or.id. As for instruction to fill in printed form, it is downloadable at http://download/sbmptn.or.id starting April 30, 2013.

SBMPTN consists of written examination and skill test. Written examination consists of academic potential test (TPA), basic knowledge test (TKDU), basic science test (TKD Saintek), and social science test (TKD Soshum). Skill test will only be given to participants enrolling in Arts and Sports Programs/Departments.

Last year, there were 36,200 participants. Now, SBMPTN committee has predicted that there will be 40,000 high school graduates taking the examination—14,500 will take natural science examination; 15,000 social science; and 10,500 mixed examination.

According to Asep Gana Suganda, participants for natural science examination or social science examination will have to pay registration fees in the amount of Rp. 175000, as for mixed examination Rp. 200000. Fee for each skill test is Rp. 150000. It can be paid via wire transfer or ATM at the appointed bank, namely Bank Mandiri, or local post office.

Four state universities in the city of Bandung, ITB, Unpad, UPI, and UIN set varying quota for SBMPTN 2013—1424, 2095, 2084, and 690 respectively.
