Prof. Josaphat from Chiba University Gives Lecture on Remote Sensing Technology

[Unpad.ac.id, 25/03/2013] Prof. Josaphat Tetuko Sri Sumantyo, Ph.D., the expert on satellite imaging from the Center for Environmental Remote Sensing, Chiba University, gave a talk to the students and faculties in Unpad on Monday (25/03) in Bale Rucita, Unpad Rectorate Building. The lecture called Development of Advanced Remote Sensing Technology for Microsatellite UAV and its Applications covered the broad applications of remote sensing or imaging technology on earth.

The remote sensing is generally carried out by unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to take images of earth surfaces and its underground. This will enable scientists to measure water content and soil solidity for various uses.

According to Handarto, from the Unpad Cooperation Office, the lecture was part of the partnership programs that Chiba University and its affiliated foreign universities have. It is expected that the lecture would boost the students’ and faculties’ motivation to further develop remote sensing technologies.
