IKA Unpad Panel Discussion for Governor and Vice Governor Candidates of West Java

[Unpad.ac.id, 22/12/2012] As an institution inseparable from West Java, Unpad supposedly plays a great role for the development of the province. As the election for the governor is coming near, Unpad is responsible to take part and promote the importance of the election that will lead to creating leaders capable of running the office and developing the province for the next five years.

“Unpad cannot be separated from West Java. Unpad\s development depends on the progress of the provincial government,” said the head of Unpad Alumni Association (IKA), Dr. Sapta Nirwandar, when opening the Panel Discussion for Governor and Vice Governor Candidates of West Java on Friday in Aula Grha Sanusi Hardjadinata, Unpad Campus in Bandung. “IKA Unpad shows a token of appreciation for the candidates, what’s more some of them are Unpad alumni and the incumbent is now serving as benefactor for Unpad,” said he.

Present in the event are Ahmad Heryawan (incumbent)-Deddy Mizwar and Cecep Nana Suryana Toyib-Dikdik Mulyana Arief Mansur. They were answering questions from team of panelists Yesmil Anwar, Susi Dwi Harijanti, and RIna Indiastuti.

Ahmad Heryawan and Deddy Mizwar offered a mission and vision that cover social welfare, strong and just regional economic development, modernized governance, and excellent facilities, strong entrepreneurship, competitiveness, and global strategy. “We are still thinking of making better and independent West Java,” said Ahmad Heryawan, the incumbent governor of West Java.

As for Dikdik-Cecep, they are aiming at religious, clever, competent, healthy, and cultured human resources through just and sustainable economy, infrastructure development, clean and effective governance, and optimizing natural resources and marine tourism. In addition, they are to give excellent service in health, education. “Our vision is an orderly, secure, dignified, pristine, dynamic, harmonious, and excellent West Java,” said Cecep.

Each candidate gave formless explanation on cases all panelists presented. One participant at the discussion, Rizki Muhammad from Universitas Pasundan, expressed his gratitude for the organization of the event. “I really appreciated Unpad IKA’s effort in bringing closer the candidates to the constituents. Hopefully, their mission and vision are not empty promises,” said he.
